Ahmedabad: At the joint effort of India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) and Regional Convener for Western Region, Core Group for Tibetan Cause, an event for Tibet has been finalised on 3 February at Gujurat Vidyapeeth, Ahmedabad.
A preliminary visit was undertaken by Coordinator, ITCO where he met with Prof. Bharat Joshi, Registrar; Dr Rajendra Khimani, Honorary Director; Dr Kamlesh Patel and Dr Giridharbhai Patel, M D Desai College of Gujarat Vidyapeeth. During the interaction, the purpose of the event was presented, venues were explored and relevant faculties were outreached to make sure of their presence during the said event.
Keeping up with the old relations with Tibetan cause that goes back to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit at Vidyapeeth in 1989 and 2008, exclusive teaching upon Gandhian thought and philosophy in Dharamshala is being arranged for CTA staff by Prof. Narayanbhai Desai, Former Vice-Chancellor, Gujarat Vidyapeeth.
Certifications were distributed for selective students for the extracurricular activities that they had ventured during the academic sessions. Followed by this, Gandhi’s legacy of spinning Charka – an identity of Indian culture and tradition – was simultaneously carried out by the students. At the gathering, the coordinator of ITCO shared about the upcoming event, its significance in realising what Gandhi’s Ahimsa has to do with Tibet’s identity and requested to share the same among their friends and to participate in the upcoming event on 3rd February 2020.
