11th August, 2021: Amidst growing fuel of protest against Chinese Communist Government’s ill designed policies hampering peace and harmony over its neighboring territories particularly how it has illegally occupied Tibet through force and betrayal and now how it has been hovering its draconian steps upon India’s integrity and economy was reflected by the participation of the members of Indian Tibet Support Groups at Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Sh. Arvind Nikose and Sh. Sandesh Meshram, National Co-Convener and Regional Convener, respectively, for Core Group of Tibetan Cause – India, initiated this meeting under the banner of Indo Tibet Friendship Society. Unfortunately, Sh. Nikose couldn’t join the meeting due to his health related issues whereas all the other senior representatives including Samta Sainik Dal, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Movement and Indo Tibet Friendship Society – Women’s Wing came together in unison to lodge protest against the Chinese Government for its self-vested investments that has havocked the back bones of many developing nations worldwide.
The event started with a brief condolence for all those Members who passed away in this course of journey and particularly during the first and second phase of existent pandemic. The coordinator for ITCO briefed the gathering about its purpose and urgency of awareness and protest against the misdeeds of Chinese Communist polices. He shared about how many individuals, NGOs and even Government entities have celebrated this time the 86th birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama that shall be challenging in doing the full reportage. In other words, he asserted that this is the reflection of fading away of injustices of Chinese Government and emergence of truth for Tibetan people. He also added some of the recent reports, programs and future initiatives that have been planned despite the existent pandemic situation albeit following its SOPs.
Sh. Amrut Bansod, General Secretary, Maharashtra State, ITFS, as requested in the absence of Sh. Arvind Nikose, National Co Convener, CGTC-I and founder of National Campaign for Free Tibet chaired the meeting. Sh. Bansod urged the participants to come out in unison irrespective of ideological differences of organization to stand against the barbaric, expansionist and vulturine policies of Chinese Government that has made the life of Tibetan people into a hell.
Other members who have participated in the meeting includes Sh. Rajesh Nanwatkar, Sh. Prashant Doye, Sh. Ashok Dhamgaye, Sh. Sachin Ramteke, Dr. Nilay Y. Charde, Sh. Rajiv Ghirnikar, Ms. Harsha Patil, Smt. Manjusha Gotekar, Smt. Madhuri Rangari representing ITFS; Prof. Vijay Kevalramani, Smt. Sapna Talreja, Sh. Jaswinder Singh Saini, Sh. Virag Raut representing Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Movement; Smt. Rekha Lokhande, Smt. Meera Sardar, Smt. Sunanda Khairkar representing ITFS Women’s Wing; Sh. Sunil Sariputta, Sh. Prakash Darshanik representing Samta Sainik Dal were seen in potential in exchanging the views and strategizing future initiatives. The meeting was held at Hotel Vrindhavan, Ghat Road, Nagpur.
The conclusion of meeting was then followed by Press Conference held at Press Club, Tilak Patrakar Bhavan, Panchsheel Square, Nagpur. The Press Conference was addressed by Sh. Amrut Bansod, Gen. Secretary, ITFS-Maharashtra State; Sh. Sandesh Meshram, Regional Convener, CGTC-I and Sh. Jigmey Tsultrim, Coordinator, ITCO. The ever unending brutalities including cultural assimilation of Tibetan people into Chinese race, the fate of 11th Panchen Lama, environmental fragility of Tibet being caused by Chinese so-called developmental projects, resumption of dialogue, interference of the reincarnation selection of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and India Tibet relations were addressed during one hour press briefing that witnessed the attendance of mainstream media both electronic and print.
