March 10, 2017: In commemorating the 58th Tibet Uprising Day worldwide by Tibetans and its supporters, not far from main city of Allahabad barely 19 kms, an Intermediate CBSE affiliated school – Shiv Ganga Vidya Mandir – witnessed the second commemoration of this event at their campus. Slogans of “Dragon Dragon Go Away”, “Avoid Avoid Chinese Goods”, “Azad Karo Azad Karo Tibbat ko Azad Karo” were heard in loud and clear with more than 3000 students and teachers and staffs of SGVM, dressed up in their school uniform along with 100 vehicles cheerfully participated while walking through four kilometer distance in the streets of Shantipuram, Phaphamau, Allahabad.

Despite annual exam schedule particularly board exams, even then the administration headed by Prof.Sheo Sagar Ojha, Director; Shri.R.P.Pandey, Principal and their team members proudly organized this event. Not only this, Prof.Ojha who also heads the Department of Geography, Allahabad University, has taken keen initiatives in teaching the students mainly about physical boundaries of India and Tibet and its deep rooted cultural relationship.
Around 1200 noon the event started with prayers and offering of flowers to the statue of Devi Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom. Shri Pradip Tiwari on the behalf of SGVM faculty & students welcomed all the dignitaries of the rally. It was followed by introductory address given by Prof.Sheo Sagar Ojha and Shri.R.P.Pandey. To grace this occasion, Dr.Lobsang Sangay, Sikyong, Central Tibetan Administraton, in his message of Goodwill has expressed his gratitude for taking this initiative by the school. Mr.Jigmey Tsultrim, Co-ordinator, ITCO was invited as Chief Guest at the event and he underlined the worsening situation inside Tibet, the implementation of policies being adopted by CTA for voicing these concerns and awareness building measures of ITCO.
Shri.Niranjan Singh, National Co-Convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch was invited as Special Guest along with Shri.Sundar Lal Suman, Regional Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India. Shri.Niranjan spoke upon the boycott of Chinese goods being marketed in India. He questioned about the reliability of Chinese government’s policy as what they have shown in history in relations to India and Tibet. He strongly urged the students to know these facts and act consciously in protecting the centuries old relation between India and Tibet.
Shri.Suman complimented the students and teaching faculty for carrying forward this mission and assured them that this will hugely play a important role for creating awareness upon India’s relation with Tibet and threat from China.
Local newspaper Dainik Jagran, Hindustan Times has even covered upon the happening of this event. The event then concluded with giving away of medals and certification to the students and teaching faculties for their outstanding achievement in their respective fields.
