
Nagpur, Maharashtra: A Tibet Awareness Program was successfully launched at the Samta Sainik Dal Camp, organised at Mayur Lawn & Hall near Budhbhumi, Kamti Road, Nagpur. The event was held under the guidance of C.N. Wasnik, Sunil Sariputta, and Ashok Bondade. Tashi Dekyi, Acting Coordinator of the India-Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO), inaugurated the program.
The camp drew participation from marshals across India, including contingents from Delhi, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Kerala, as well as members of the Women’s Regiment.
During the awareness session, Tashi Dekyi delivered a detailed presentation on the significance of Tibet and its relevance to India. Her talk covered key topics such as Tibet’s geography, religion, culture, and its historical and cultural connections with India. She also highlighted Tibet’s status as a sovereign state and raised awareness about the ongoing human rights violations in Tibet.
The presentation was further enhanced with visual elements, including video clips, photographs, statistical data, and maps, which kept the audience actively engaged. Hundreds of children and numerous marshals attending the camp showed keen interest throughout the session.
The program served as a meaningful platform for spreading awareness about Tibet’s plight and strengthening public understanding of why Tibet matters to India.
