Dharamshala: Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama granted a special audience to Sikyong Penpa Tsering and the three Kalons of the 16th Kashag this morning, 19 November.
During the hourlong virtual meeting, His Holiness the Dalai Lama spoke on the importance of preserving the Tibetan language and culture and the need for building an altruistic society based on virtues like compassion and warmheartedness.
“I try to make a concerted effort to promote peace in the world drawing from the wisdom of ancient Indian knowledge and it’s important that everyone also follow suit,” His Holiness urged Sikyong and his three cabinet members.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering and the three Kalons (Kalon Tharlam Dolma Changra of Education Department, Kalon Gyari Dolma of Security Department, and Kalon Norzin Dolma of Information and International Relations Department) briefed His Holiness the Dalai Lama of their respective portfolios and also spoke of their future endeavours.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering, while expressing his profound faith and gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his leadership, reaffirmed the Kashag’s steadfast commitment to resolve the Sino-Tibetan conflict based on the vision and guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The virtual meeting today with His Holiness is the fourth for Sikyong Penpa Tsering since taking over the executive leadership of Central Tibetan Administration in May this year and the first for the three Kalons who were sworn in on Wednesday last week.
