Ladakh: On 12th Sept, the Chief accountant of Health, Tenzin Palkyi and the North-Zone Coordinator, Tenzin Tseyang embarked on an official visit to the ladakh and Janthang regions to assess the progress and implementation of health projects, with a particular focus on WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) activities implemented through LNP (Leh Nutrition Project).
The purpose of the visit was to review the effectiveness of completed health initiatives, financial management and identity areas for improvement.
During the visit, Health team was accompanied by Tashi Dhondup ( Project Officer, CRO Ladakh) and Nazir (LNP). In the first three days visit at seven regions of Jangthang, meetings were conducted with community leaders and committee members of respective regions. The team also conducted site visits to various project locations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation on the ground.
From 18th September, the health team will monitor the overall health programs conducted through primary health center. A brief orientation on health programs will be provided to newly appointed Health Exe-Secreatary, Sonam Lhamtso and Health accountant, Tenzin Thokmey of Ladakh primary health center.
To ensure transparency and accountability in the utilization of WASH project funds, the chief accountant will closely monitorthe financial management of projects at LNP.
The official visit to ladakh will conclude on 22nd Sept, 2023.The monitoring visit to Leh Ladakh is funded by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM).
