Dharamshala: As preventive measures to fight against TB in our Tibetan community, Department of Health with funding from USAID is putting efforts into Active case screening to detect Tuberculosis, specifically in clustered population like in schools, colleges and monastic institutions where the risk of spreading of that communicable disease is maximum if undetected.
Medical team from Tsojhe Hospital, Bylakuppe led by Dr. Tashi Sangpo from 23rd to 28th January, 2023 conducted Active TB case screening and awareness activities at Bangalore’s Tibetan Youth hostel, The Dalai Lama College and Traditional Tibetan Medical institute. Similar activities were also carried out for the students studying in Mysore as well.
A total of 525 Tibetan Students were covered under this Active TB case Screening programme. Similar activities were earlier carried out in Varanasi and Tibetan Youth Hostel, Delhi in the month of November, 2022.
