Dharamshala: On the occasion of Prime Minister Modi’s birthday on 17 September, a random COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test conducted by Delek Hospital at Yongling school and Norbulingka area revealed nine people to be Covid-positive followed by another eight people testing positive on 20 September at the latter.
The Health Department of CTA in collaboration with Delek Hospital, on the following day collected samples for the RT-PCR test of 95 people from which nine people tested positive. In addition, few people went to test at the zonal hospital and Naseeb Diagnostic Labs to return positive.
This morning, a delegation of the Health Secretary Palden Dhondup, Delek Hospital Chief Administrator Dawa Phunkyi and Dharamshala Tibetan Settlement Officer Kunga Tsering visited the place and held a meeting with the authorities in adherence to the necessary COVID-protocols.
As of 22 September, a total of 33 people have tested positive for COVID in the Norbulingka area. On account of it’s tourist draw which risks turning into COVID hot spot, the Norbulingka Institute, Mohal Sidhpur has been made a containment zone by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, District Kangra today.
