Varanasi: At the effort of Dr Anjani Kumar Mishra, Secretary, India Tibet Friendship Society, Uttar Pradesh State; apart from his printing and publication profession, he has also been actively involved in showcasing the wisdom of relation that India shares with Tibet. Towards this end along with the permission of Dr Vinod Chaturvedi, Director, Golden India Public School (GIPS); an event of ‘A Day for Tibet’ entitled ‘Tibet’s factor in Sino-India’s relation’ was organized at Durgakund – one of the cultural and religious nerve centre of Kashi which is popularly known as Varanasi. The event was organized on Thursday, 9th December 2021.
Sh. Ramagya Pandey, teaching sociology at GIPS, introduced the guest including Dr Anjani Kumar Mishra, Secretary, ITFS UP State; Sh. Ashok Upadhayay, Treasurer, Society for Indo Tibetan Buddhist Studies and Mr Jigmey Tsultrim, Coordinator for ITCO. Dr Vinod Chaturvedi, Director, GIPS, while welcoming all the guests he emphasized the importance of this event and urged all the students and faculties to listen with all conscience. Dr Anjani Kumar Mishra briefed the audience about the aims and objectives of this event and shared the names of other schools and institutions where this event was held in the past. Dr Mishra outlined the historical journey of ITFS (Indo Tibet Friendship Society) that has seen many of those tall figures who had rendered their contribution in bringing up the plight of ITFS with the sole motive of ensuring the strengthening of India Tibet relations amongst the variant fabrics of Indian society particularly the youth.
Dr Rajnarain Tiwari emphasized the significance of knowing about one’s cultural and social roots that serves the foundation of one’s identity that can be visible, vibrant and vigorous. Dr Tiwari urged the students to learn from what Tibetans have lost, gone through all these years of struggle for their identity and through this learning what can be compared about knowing the pains and paths of India’s independence struggle.
Before addressing his part, the Coordinator for ITCO profusely thanked the management, faculty and students, especially Dr Anjani Kumar Mishra to have organized and inviting him to attend this event. He laid the experiences of how Tibetans struggled through their journey from 13,000ft above sea level to 250ft above sea level from 1959 to the present day. Aspirations and commitment that Tibetans still behold inside Tibet, the policy and implementations of Central Tibetan Administration in exile, the outreach of this information and exploration of support from Indian masses were some of those key parts that were touched by him.
Sh. Ramagya Pandey, while making his remarks, with more conscience, underlined that a zig-zag line is being drawn on plain paper of present educational culture for children which then seldom the children find it possible to change that zig-zag line into a straight line. The event started around 11:30hrs and ended at 14:30hrs along with Q&A from the students that were then followed by a vote of thanks from Smt. Mamta Sharma, Principal, Golden Indian Public School.
