Taiwan: The Office of Tibet, Taiwan led by Representative Dawa Tsering and Secretary Sonam Dorjee paid a visit to Parliamentarian Freddy Lim at his office earlier this week to solicit his support in the formation of a new Taiwanese Parliamentary Group for Tibet.
Representative Tsering and his staff congratulated Freddy Lim for his re-election in the legislative and requested for his continued support for Tibet. They presented two requests before him- formation of a new Taiwanese Parliamentary Group for Tibet and to take up Tibet’s issue in the parliament and if needed, to pass resolutions on Tibet accordingly.
” For instance, parliaments across the world have passed a series of resolutions rejecting China’s interference in Dalai Lama’s reincarnation. We would like to request if Taiwan’s parliament could also take a similar step”, said Representative Tsering speaking to parliamentarian Freddy Lim. Parliamentarian Lim in return assured to take up their request in the discussion at the Parliament and do the needful to garner the support of other parliamentarians.
“We assure that the formation of a new Parliamentary Group for Tibet takes place at the earliest. Once that happens, Tibet’s issue will be given due importance in the discussion”, he assured.
