
New York: Despite the freezing weather, over 150 Tibetans and supporters gathered in front of the United Nations to conclude the First North America Peace Rally for Tibet, marking the 36th anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Earlier in the day, around 80 cars joined the rally from Philadelphia to New York City.
December 10, 2025, also marked the 77th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—a reminder that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, regardless of race, language, religion, or political status.
Chief Guests Tenzing Jigme and Thondup Tsering, Members of the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile, spoke powerfully about the ongoing crisis in occupied Tibet and expressed deep gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his unwavering commitment to peace and humanity.
Other speakers included Anastasia Lin, human rights advocate; Jamyang Norbu, writer and independence activist; Jigme Ugen, President of Tibetan National Congress and SEIU Vice President; Jessie Hu, initiator of Hong Kong’s Movement; and Naidan Borjigin, director of Southern Mongolian Human Rights Center.
