Dharamshala: The Department of Education holds the preliminary selection test for the Tibetan Scholarship Program US 2022 on Tuesday, 13 July.
A total of 76 students from India with 39 female and 37 male and 9 from Nepal with 6 female and 3 male sat for the preliminary selection test for the Tibetan Scholarship Program 2022. The written examination in the Tibetan language based on Tibetan grammar, culture, history and general knowledge was held today in 19 centres in India and 1 in Nepal with strict adherence to the government-issued protocols.
Initially scheduled on 24th April, the test had to be postponed due to the spike in Covid-19 cases in the country.
The collective effort and collaboration with Tibetan Settlement Offices and other organizations saw the successful completion of the preliminary test. The Settlement Office of Mundgod further ensured and facilitated a Covid positive candidate to sit for the examination.
Upon passing, 30 top scorer students based on the Undergrad academic result would be shortlisted for the interview. The TSP program is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), and is administered through a Cooperative Agreement with The Tibet Fund (TTF), in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Education (DoE). The Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) alumni have produced more than 475 graduates in different studies over the last 34 years.
