Dharamshala: The ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) workshop was organised by Department of Education from 22 – 25 Sept, 2022 for the Bir, Chauntra, Gangkyi, Mentseekhang and Youngling crèche caregivers.
The workshop was held at the two venues
- Bir crèche, from 22-24 Sept, 2022 for the Chauntra and Bir creche caregivers.
- Gangkyi little flower crèche, from 25-26 Sept, 2022 for the Gangkyi, Mentseekhang and Youngling crèche caregivers.
Ms. Tenzin Dekyi, was the resource person of the workshop and during the workshop Tenzin Dekyi took sessions on the following areas: importance of early childhood years and education, importance of staff working with young children, creating a healthy daycare environment, working with parents, personal, social & emotional development, communication, language and literacy, problem-solving, reasoning & numeracy, knowledge & understanding of the world, physical development, creative development, organising of toys & learning material in the nursery room, taking care of toys & learning materials, presentation of Montessori sensorial materials to a child.
A few of the participants mentioned in their feedback that even though they have been working at the crèche for a while, this training had taught them how to present playthings to the kids and how it affects them at different stages of development. A total of 13 participants took part in the workshop.
Ms. Tenzin Tsega of DoE coordinated the workshop. The workshop was funded by USAID.
