Bir: The Bir Tibetan Society expresses its gratitude to Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche for providing relief to the residents of the settlement in the face of challenges caused by the pandemic and lockdown imposed by the state and central government.
Under the benevolence of Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche, cooking oil, sugar, salt, hand sanitizers, face masks, immunity boosters, and ten kgs of rice and flour each were distributed to 120 Tibetan families of Bir Tibetan Society. The recipients include residents of Bir Tibetan society, staff of local Mentseekhang, staff of local settlement office, staff of local health clinic, and the staff and teachers of local Sambhota Tibetan school.
The relief items were distributed on 12 August by the settlement office with the help of the local Covid relief committee and other volunteers from the community.
The 14th Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche, based in Australia, is the head lama of Driru Samdup Dechen Choekorling monastery.
