Dr. Phuntsok Wangchuk, Director of Health Service, UT Ladakh issued 50 sets of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) 150 N95 masks, 100 surgical gloves, 138 sanitizers worth Rs 1.5 Lakh to Mr. Tseten Wangchuk Chief Representative Officer, Sonamling Tibetan settlement, Ladakh.
CRO then distributed 17 N95 masks and 17 hand sanitizers to COVID positive patients, patients recovered from Covid-19 and close contact of COVID patients.
Group leaders of Sonamling Tibetan Settlement are one of the main frontline workers who have been working tirelessly towards the prevention of COVID-19 and regulating residents who are under home quarantine. Mr. Wangchuk distributed a total of 80 N95 Masks, 80 hand sanitizers, 39 Personal Protection Kit to group leaders.
CRO requested all group leaders to volunteer in purchasing a sanitizing machine for each camp so that they are equipped for frequent sanitization of camps. CRO distributed 30 liters of Sodium Hypochloride sanctioned by the Department of Health, CTA.
As per directed by the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, Sorig Immune booster medicine has been distributed to 1106 Tibetans who are above 65 years, frontline workers, Staff Nurse and people with comorbidities.
To date, the Ladakh UT administration has tested 182 Tibetans who have returned from Red Zone states of India for COVID-19 free of cost. Among them, 10 Tibetans were tested positive and five Tibetans have been recovered. Remaining 5 patients are currently contained in their home, all are asymptomatic and in sound health. Their results are currently awaited.
