Dharamshala: Dr Namgyal Choedup has been appointed as the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Office of Tibet based in Washington DC, according to a circular issued by the Kashag Secretariat dated 19 November.

The circular states:

As per Article 19 (1) of the Public Service Commission’s rules and regulations, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Offices of Tibet must be appointed by the Kashag in the attendance of Sikyong and the Kalons. Dr Namgyal Choedup is appointed as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Office of Tibet in the United States effective 1 December 2021.
