
Dharamshala: The Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) hosts the annual interactive luncheon for Tibetan and local Indian journalists from various media houses earlier today at Hotel Royal Castle, Dharamshala.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Tenzin Jigme Taydeh, Press Officer of the Central Tibetan Administration, who extended his heartfelt appreciation to all the attendees on behalf of the department.
Addressing the gathering, DIIR Secretary Karma Choeying expressed his gratitude to the local Indian media and expressed gratitude for their support towards bringing global attention to the Tibet cause. He said, “I have been witnessing this for the last three to four years during my tenure here at DIIR. It’s a good opportunity for us to get to know each other, and I believe that the kind of relationship we have with the Indian media is very cordial. My experience has been very good with all of you. I request all of you to stay in good touch with us and maintain a cordial relationship with our Tibetan media as well.” He further thanked India and its people for never letting Tibetans feel like refugees.
The luncheon was attended by DIIR Secretary Karma Choeying, CTA Spokesperson Tenzin Lekshay, and Bureau Chief Namgyal Tsewang. More than 70 journalists from various media houses participated in the event, including representatives from Aapka Faisla, ABP News, Amar Ujala, ANI, Anant Gyan TV, Chamba Express, Chaupal Bharat, Crack of Dawn, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Savera Times, Dainik Tribune, D.B. The annual interactive luncheon is organised every year by the Department of Information and International Relations to foster interaction and collaboration between media personnel from Tibetan and local Indian news organisations.
