Dharamshala, October 28: Given the surge in the content creators on social media platforms amongst Tibetans, the Department of Information & International Relations (DIIR) today started a day-long virtual workshop on ‘Conscientious Content Creation and Marketing Strategy.’
In his introductory remarks prior to the workshop, Additional Secretary Namgyal Tsewang, Tibet News Bureau Chief of the Department of Information & International Relations, said the workshop is necessary and important for the content creators to make optimal use of the potential that digital media can offer.
Additional Secretary Namgyal Tsewang also noted that the workshop is aimed at realising the twin goal of helping content creators generate income through their contents while also having an impact on the awareness of the Tibetan issues on the virtual space by making a creative use of the social media tools.
The day-long digital content creation workshop is being conducted by Ms. Sohini Bhowmik, a media specialist and is funded by Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF). The workshop covered a range of topics related to starting a social media channel, selection of contents, targeting an audience, marketing and monetizing contents, creating impacts by contents etc.
Around 10 participants virtually took part in the workshop.
