Dharamshala: A delegation of Tibetans from Dharamshala led by the Tibetan Settlement officer Kunga Tsering called on several local Indian dignitaries to express gratitude for their continued support to Tibet and the Tibetan people on 9 August 2021. The local Indian dignitaries include Prof. Shri Parmananda Sharma, Shri Vijay Singh Mankhotia, and Shri Ram Swaroop.
Prof. Shri Parmananda Sharma is a writer and former Principal of Government College, Kacheri in Dharamshala. As per His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s guidance, he has published many books on Tibet in Hindi, English, Urdu and Sanskrit etc. Shri. Vijay Singh Mankhotia was a former Minister, MLA, Major and is good friend of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Shri. Ram Swaroop is also a great admirer of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He has been President and founding member of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association (ITFA) Dharamshala, and currently he is a senior advisor of ITFA.
The renowned trio became friends of Tibet since His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama’s arrival in Dharamshala around 1959-60.
The Tibetan delegation headed by the settlement officer Kunga Tsering included MP Dawa Phunkyi, chief administrator of Tibetan Delek Hospital; MP Dawa Tsering, Director of Yongling School; Samten Lhundup, President of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement; Ven Sonam Dakpa, Tantric master of Nechung monastery; Nyima Bhuti, Principal of Tibetan Transit school; Tsering Yangzom, President of Mcleod Shopkeeper’s Association; Thupten Lama, PRO of ITFA; and Tenzin Nyima, President of Regional Tibetan Women’s Association.
