Kollegal: Deputy Commissioner of Chamarajnagar District, Ramesh D.S., (IAS) visited the Tibetan settlement in Kollegal on Tuesday and discussed with the settlement leadership the grievances of the Tibetan residents. The latter assured his willingness to assist Tibetans in his district and also assured his eagerness to visit the settlement again in the near future.

Settlement Officer Gelek Jungney and representatives from governmental and non-governmental organisations welcomed the maiden arrival of the Deputy Commissioner.  The Deputy Commissioner later visited the local monastery where he observed the daily activities of the monastic and learned about the teachings of Buddhism and the Nalanda traditions.
