Dharamshala: Department of Information and International Relations, Central Tibetan Administration, successfully concluded the ‘Tibet Advocacy Training and Youth Capacity Building program’ for a group of V-TAG members from North India on 29 January 2024.
The training was held from January 26 to 29 and began with an introductory session to set the tone amongst the participants. On the subsequent day, notable personalities, including the India National Director of Students for a Free Tibet, a researcher from Tibet Watch, the President of the Tibetan Youth Congress, and the Vice President of the Tibetan Women Association, led a penal discussion and shared their insights on advocacy strategies. The Secretary of Department of Information and International Relations, Karma Choeying, also addressed the gathering as chief guest on the event’s second day.
To pledge their commitment to advocating for Tibet, the participants made a declaration on the training’s penultimate day and partook in a feedback session. This session provided an opportunity for participants to share their insights and reflections.
The concluding session on 29 January was graced by Additional Secretary Tenzin Lekshay from the Department of Information and International Relations. In his talk, he discussed Tibet’s cause, networking, and the art of effective advocacy.
