Dharamshala: On the occasion of World AIDS Day on 1 December 2023, the Department of Health and its network of health centres across India are taking numerous initiatives to show support for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and to highlight the disease, especially its prevention, transmission, and stigma, through street marches, videos, panel discussions, free distribution of pamphlets and HIV tests, etc.

As HIV/AIDS remains a major public health challenge, the department urges everyone to join hands in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The programme is funded by the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) of the United States.
