Dharamshala: Health Quality Assurance Assessment visit for Optimal Service Model (OSM) program was carried out by Under Secretary Tsering and Project Officer Tenzin Tseyang from the Department of Health, CTA in four southern health facilities and Delhi PHC from 25 April to 12 May.
Similarly, Dr Tsering Tsamchoe and Health Information System (HIS) program Coordinator, Tenzin Pema, conducted quality assurance audits in three central health facilities i.e., Odisha Menlha Hospital, Bhandara TPHC and Mainpath TPHC from 5 May to 13 May.
As provision of quality care across the healthcare organisations is a key priority, the Optimal Service Model (OSM) desk of DoHe, CTA developed hospital quality assurance guidelines and protocols to standardise services and improve health outcomes in 2021. To ensure smooth implementation and achievement of objectives, hospital administrators and service providers were sensitised and trained on the quality assurance framework and standards as well.
While the Health Department conducts an independent quality assessment of health facilities to enhance quality assurance at the facility level, quarterly internal assessments are being conducted by the hospital quality team led by the hospital executive secretaries. Till now, the department has successfully completed the assessment visit in TPHC Ladakh, TPHC Dekyiling, Tsojhe Hospital, Hunsur Hospital, Kollegal Hospital, DTR Hospital, Menlha Hospital, TPHC Bhandara, Delhi TPHC and TPHC Mainpat with generous support from the United States Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM).
