Dharamsala: Under the Mother and Child Health (MCH) desk, the department of health conducted a screening of Anaemia in three TCV schools constituting TCV Gopalpur, Upper TCV and Lower TCV.
Anaemia is a health condition in which the blood does not have enough healthy Red Blood Cells. A total of 413 girls above thirteen years from these schools attended the screening. The above 13 age girls have been selected as this age group is considered more vulnerable to the loss of blood condition due to their monthly menstrual cycle.
Apart from the screening, the concerned staff Kelsang Choedon and Tenzin Chomphel gave an awareness talk on Anemia, Menstrual Hygiene and the Effects of Substance Abuse on students in adolescence.
