Dharamshala: The 8th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860/R.No.S-E/403) and the 16th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under Societies Registration Act, 2006/R.No.470/2006) were held on 7th September 2023 (F/N & A/N respectively) at the Conference Hall, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Gangchen Kyishong, Dharamshala.

The 8th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860/R.No.S-E/403) was graced by the presence of six members out of seven. The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson Lobsang Shastri (Representative, Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi), in attendance of the Vice Chairperson Jigmey Namgyal (Secretary, DoE, CTA Dharamshala), S.N Gulia – Member (Jt. Commissioner, Fin. KVS HQ, Delhi), Ven Geshe Lhakdor- Member (Director, LTWA, Dharamshala), Sonam Sichoe – Member (President, TCV Head Office, Dharamshala) and Tsering Dhondup – Member Secretary (Director, STSS, Dharamshala).

The 8th GB meeting of the Society was honoured to have the presence of Madam Tharlam Dolma Changra – the Honourable Kalon for Education, DoE, CTA Dharamsala as a Special Invitee.

As per the legal opinion sought with regards to the appointment of the Chairperson of the Governing Body and in compliance with the Kashag’s order, the GB members approved Madam Tharlam Dolma Changra, the Honourable Kalon for Education CTA as the new Chairperson of the Governing Body, STSS and thanked the out-going Chairperson Lobsang Shastri for his involvement till date.

Many crucial Agendas pertaining to Administration and Academics were discussed and approved by the GB members for the welfare of STSS.

The 16th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under Societies Registration Act, 2006/R.No.470/2006) was graced by the presence of six members out of seven. The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson Madam Tharlam Dolma Changra – the Honourable Kalon for Education, DoE, CTA Dharamsala in presence of the Vice Chairperson Jigmey Namgyal (Secretary, DoE, CTA Dharamshala), Ven Geshe Lhakdor- Member (Director, LTWA, Dharamshala), Sonam Sichoe – Member (President, TCV Head Office, Dharamshala), Passang Tsering – Member (Principal, CHTS, Sarah Dharamshala) and Tsering Dhondup – Member Secretary (Director, STSS, Dharamshala).

The Agendas proposed before the Governing Body members were thoroughly discussed and approved accordingly.

Both the meetings of the 8th Governing Body and the 16th Governing Body were concluded productively as scheduled by Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society.
