Tezu: After the completion of the Health Department’s need assessment at Tuting, Deputy Secretary Mrs. Pema Youdon accompanied by WASH Project Officer Ms. Sonam Dolma visited Tezu, Miao and Tenzigang Tibetan settlements for the assessment of the same and awareness of various programs of the health department from 9th to 14th May, 2022. In all the three settlements, they had a series of meetings with the Settlement Officers, members of Local Tibetan Assembly, members of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, and all the camp leaders as well as local representatives. Furthermore, taking the opportunity Mrs. Pema Youdon briefed on the various programs under the Disease Prevention Section and Public Health Section of the department such as Tibetan Medicare System, RMNCHA, Disability Program, Mental Health, HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse, Telemedicine, etc.
During their visit to Tenzigang Settlement, the delegates received a very good opportunity to have a meeting with the Arunachal Pradesh’s Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Pema Khandu, MLAs, and DC. Taking this very fortunate opportunity, Mrs. Pema Youdon accompanied by the Settlement Officer Mr. Tenzin Rinchen thanked the Chief Minister and the Govt. of India for their sustained assistance and hospitality extended to Tibetans. Mrs. Pema Youdon on behalf of the Tenzigang Settlement Office briefed the Honorable Chief Minister about the major challenges being faced by the residents, on which he assured to address the issues mentioned as soon as possible.
