Darjeeling: On 2 November 2025, the Manjushree Centre of Tibetan Culture, in collaboration with the Darjeeling local Ghoton Committee, celebrated the commemoration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday held at the Darjeeling Sambhota Tibetan School Hall.

With the aim to promote preservation of Tibetan culture—particularly the Tibetan language —the gathering highlighted the importance of speaking Tibetan among the community.

On the occasion, the local Tibetan residents collectively pledged to prioritise the use of the Tibetan language, both within the settlement and at home, thereby reaffirming their commitment to the cultural preservation of the Tibetan language.
