
Bangalore: On 7 July 2025, The initiative led by Chief Representative Office, of south zone, organised a Cultural Program at the St. Joseph University’s Auditorium,Bangalore, with the support of North East and Tibetan Forum students of the University, to mark the celebration of 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The event featured a vibrant cultural performance by Gangjong Doekar, a Tibetan cultural troupe from Kalimpong, West Bengal, which enthralled the audience with traditional songs and dances. The program also featured a keynote address by Dr. Sujoy Chakravathi, Professor at St. Joseph’s University. He highlighted the values and global impact of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Rev. Fr. James Chin. Additionally, Tenzin Dharpo gave an insightful presentation on the importance of water harvesting, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable environmental practices.
The program was well-attended and warmly received, serving as a meaningful tribute to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama while also showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Tibetan community and promoting awareness of critical environmental issues.
