30th July 2021, Guwahati: As Chinese People’s Liberation Army attacked upon the sovereignty of India on 20th October 1962 disregarding all the norms including Panchsheel Treaty that was signed on 29th April 1954 between India and China, Tibet Support Groups in India especially Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) has been holding different levels of protest on this day against Chinese Communist Government’s ill designed policies of expansionism and indoctrination upon Tibet and eastern frontiers of India. To commemorate the 59th Anniversary of this day of Chinese Government’s assault on India’s trust and demeaning moral and diplomatic values, the Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India (CGTC-I) organized a preliminary meeting in Guwahati, Assam today.
The CGTC-I has decided to organize the major event to send two strong messages – first, to Beijing asserting that India would safeguard its territory at any cost; and second, to New Delhi intending that Sino-India relation cannot progress unless the issue of Tibet is amicably resolved and His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama regain his Potala Palace in Lhasa in a dignified manner. The main event is scheduled to be held in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh near Indo-Tibet border which often China claims immorally and illegally as the southern part of occupied Tibet.

Shri Khrimey further commented that Tibet is the real neighbour of India (not China) and its independence would benefit the largest democracy in the globe tremendously. Shri Khrimey claimed that as Tibet is with the truth, it would soon break the clutches of China and emerge as a sovereign nation. He also hinted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent 6th July birthday wishes to His Holiness the Dalai Lama brought a fresh hope for the millions of Tibetans.
Shri Surendra Kumar offered his gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for all the guidance and hard work for his fellow Tibetans for decades. He also offered prayers and thoughts with Tibetans inside Tibet who are suffering under Chinese Communist Regime. He stressed the use of Indo-Tibet border instead of Indo-China border, and the government of India should also maintain that. He further proposed for regular Tibet related programs in North East to create more awareness and garner more support for Tibet.
Shri Soumyadeep Datta stated that China is waging an ecological war against India as it is exploiting the huge fresh water resources in the Tibetan plateau and also diverting a huge volume of the water from Yarlung Tsangpo as River Brahmaputra is known in Tibet affecting the Brahmaputra Valley Civilization. A brochure documenting the Tibetan movement in Assamese “Tibbat Kyoho Bharator BhaveGurutatta Purana” was also released.
