
Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India Meeting and Seminar on “Environment and Security” Held in Itanagar.
Itanagar: On January 24 2025, the Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India (CGTC – I) convened its meeting in Itanagar under the chairmanship of Shri R.K. Khrimey, National Convener of CGTC – I. The meeting saw the participation of National Co-Conveners Shri Arvind Nicose and Shri Surendra Kumar, along with regional Conveners of the CGTC-I Shri Pema Wangdak Bhutia, Dr Sanjay Shukla, Shri Sourabh Saraswat, Shri Sudhesh Kumar Chandravanshi, Shri Sandesh Meshram, Shri Amit Jyotikar, Shri J.P. Urs Karwataka, Shri S. Adhavan and Shri Lobsang Genchen.
The Core Group meeting was convened to conduct a comprehensive review of discussions and decisions made in past sub-committee meetings. The members assessed the implementation of revised programs over the past few months and deliberated on the planning and execution of the upcoming 8th All India Tibet Support Group Conference. The meeting provided a platform for strengthening and reorganising, where necessary, the structure and functioning at State and regional levels. The meeting concluded with active participation from all members, reaffirming India’s unwavering support for the freedom and rights of Tibetans in Tibet.
The meeting reviewed past sub-committee discussions and assessed the implementation of revised programs. Members planned the 8th All India Tibet Support Group Conference, focusing on key speakers, agenda topics and logistics. Efforts were made to strengthen and reorganise state and regional structures for better efficiency. Additional matters were discussed with an open forum for suggestions. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of India’s strong support for Tibet advocacy.
On 25 January, members of CGTC – I attended the Seminar on “Environment and Security,” at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Hall, Legislative Assembly, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Shri R.K. Khrimey, National Convener, presented an overview of the objectives of Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India. He emphasised the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between India and Tibet and highlighted the shared commitment to addressing environmental and security challenges.
Both the Core Group meeting and their active participation in the seminar reflected the continued dedication of CGTC – I and its members toward strengthening India-Tibet relations and advocating for the rights of Tibetans, with a strong focus on collaborative efforts to address mutual concerns.
