BENGALURU: The office of Chief Representative of southern Tibetan settlements based in Bangalore celebrated the first official Tibetan women’s day on 12 March as announced by the Kashag.
At least 100 participants including heads of Tibetan organisations and female students took part in the program held at the TCV Tibetan youth hostel in Bangalore.
Chief representative Mr Chophel Thupten spoke about the importance of celebrating Tibetan women and the Kashag’s consistent efforts in the empowerment of women.
It was followed by talks by several Tibetan girls who shared their views and experiences. They also expressed their faith in the Kashag and lauded its policies to curb gender disparity and violence.
The office also held a cultural performances and sports meet to mark the occasion.
