Denmark: As part of the global “Year of Compassion” commemorating the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Community in Denmark organised a special cultural programme on Sunday, 31 August 2025, at the Grønnehaven nursing home, Helsingør, where Rev. Lakha Lama, Founder of Tibet Charity, resides.
The initiative was held in honour of His Holiness’ lifelong message of compassion and kindness. It aimed to bring joy, comfort, and a sense of connection to elderly residents, many of whom are in the most vulnerable stages of life.
The event featured a series of cultural performances, which created an atmosphere of warmth and celebration. Residents and staff alike expressed their delight, with the programme leaving a lasting impression of happiness and upliftment.
Reflecting on the occasion, organisers highlighted the timeless wisdom of His Holiness: “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” The gathering served as a living reminder of this message, demonstrating how acts of kindness can touch lives in profound ways.
The success of the event was made possible through the efforts of the Tibetans living in Denmark and volunteers, whose dedication and enthusiasm transformed the programme into a meaningful expression of compassion. Their contribution ensured that the celebration was not only memorable, but also deeply aligned with the spirit of the Year of Compassion.
