
Dharamshala: Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu of the Home Department accompanied by architect Tenzin Wangyal made an assessment visit of the settlements in Kullu Manali that were adversely impacted by the recent heavy rainfall in the Kullu region.
During the three-day visit, the delegation dispatched by the CTA reviewed the issues of flooding and landslide in the settlements of Dhobhi, 15 Mile, Pakul, Yulokoe and Bhuntar.
On 3 August, the delegation visited the Dhobi settlement followed by a visit to Pakul and 15 Mile on 4 August where they reviewed the housing wreckage caused by the excessive rainfall and landslide. They met with the residents of the two areas and discussed the pressing concerns faced by them. The delegation also visited the Sambhota school in Manali to review the situation there. On 5 August, they visited the Yulokoe settlement and Bhuntar to review similar concerns faced by the residents and discussed mitigation efforts to lessen the impacts of such natural disasters in the future.
