TCV Turns 48, His Holiness Underlines Specialization in Education

Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama lauded the Tibetan Children’s Village for its development and achievements in the field of education and underlined that the students should put their best efforts in undertaking specialization in modern education.
The students should also learn and inculcate the morals and traditional customs, which are of the essence of Tibet’s unique culture, language and religion, His Holiness said, while gracing the 48th founding anniversary celebration of the Tibetan Children’s Village on Saturday, 25 October.
His Holiness said both the administration and students never allow complacency and negligence to retard the progress the development of education, adding, since the Tibetan peoples’ struggle for truth and freedom may continue for a long time, we should always be prepared for the worst.

His Holiness said using the freedom and facilities in the democratic exile community to reserve our identity, culture, language, and religion, we should remain as the source of hope and inspiration for our brethrens living under heavy restrictions and oppression of the Chinese government.
The school administration should keep in constant contacts with the students completing their school education and college graduation, so that they could offer their service to our community, His Holiness said.
His Holiness said compassion and love, as the quintessential nature of our policy, the resolution of Tibet issue will not benefit Tibetan people but will bring peace and happiness for the entire humanity.

In order to find ways to achieve this objective, the Tibetan people should carefully think to come up with valuable suggestions and opinions during the special meeting in November, His Holiness said.
It will also bring great benefit to millions of Chinese in bringing inner peace and happiness, His Holiness added.
There has been growing support from many Chinese intellectuals for the Tibetan cause despite the Chinese government’s continued repression in Tibet, His Holiness said.

Taking strong exception to the Chinese government’s baseless allegations leveled against him, His Holiness reiterated that the ‘issue of Tibet concerns the welfare of six million Tibetan people and is not a personal issue of Dalai Lama’.
His Holiness said the Chinese government’s continued stance of making baseless allegations against him and the Central Tibetan Administration has been creating obstacle in resolving the issue of Tibet.
His Holiness said he is feeling very well and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all those who wished him for his successful medical treatment.

Speaker Karma Chophel and acting Kalon Tripa Ven Tsering Phuntsok also spoke on the importance of achieving the feat of specialization in different fields of education, while giving equal priority in learning, preserving and protection of Tibet’s unique culture, language, religion and moral behaviour.
His Eminence Gyalwa Karmapa Rinpoche and a battery of senior officials of the Central Tibetan Administration attended the momentous occasion.
