Dharamshala: As per the programme of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Parliamentarians Juchen Kunchok Chodon and Tsewang Tashi Bhara successfully concluded their official programme in Bylakuppe’s Lugsam Tibetan Settlement.

On the morning of 21 July 2026, the two MPs arrived at the Bylakuppe TCV School. After being received and welcomed by the school’s director, principal, teachers, and students, they delivered an address to the staff and students in the school hall, followed by a Q&A session. Subsequently, they visited and inspected the school classrooms and various departments.

Afterward, around 10:30 AM, they visited the Kailashpura Sambhota Branch School, the pre-school (kindergarten), the creche, the Tso-Jey Hospital, the Regional Audit Office (South Zone), the Tsering Gepheling Retirement Quarters, the Organic Farming Research and Training Centre, and the site designated for the consolidated settlement rehabilitation project.

On the morning of 22 July, after paying pilgrimage visits to the Thegchokling Monastery, they visited the Elders’ Home. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by the director and staff of the elders’ home, who introduced each resident individually, after which the two MPs inspected the facility’s operations.

Next, they visited the Arlikumari Sambhota Branch School, the Kindergarten, and the creche in sequence. Following that, upon reaching Shede Village (a newly arrived Tibetan community in Camp No. 7 of the Lugsam Settlement), the local residents welcomed them. A gathering was held in the hall where the MPs gave a brief address, after which they inspected several households facing difficulties.

Finally, they visited the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement Committee (BRDL) and the Co-operative Society, successfully concluding programme in the Bylakuppe Lugsam Settlement.
