Chauntra: On 22 July 2026, the local cultural association, Mani organising committee, and a volunteer youth organisation of the Nangchen Tibetan Settlement in Chauntra jointly organised a memorial service at the local fasting retreat temple (Nyungne Temple) to pay tribute to Tibetan martyr Lobga Rangzen, who recently self-immolated for the cause of Tibet.

As part of the programme, several monks from Sherab Ling Monastery were invited to lead prayers from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The memorial service was attended by members of the local Tibetan community and residents from nearby areas. Generous donations from the public also contributed to the smooth conduct of the programme.
