Bangalore: The delegation led by the Chief Representative Office (CRO), accompanied by the Abbot, Geshe Jigme Gyatso of Drepung Gomang Monastery, was warmly received at St. Joseph’s University by Prof. Sujoy Chakravarthi and Prof. R.K. Lalnunsangi, both representing the Department of English. The Abbot emphasised the importance of SEE (Social, Ethical, and Emotional) Learning, which is being implemented in over 140,000 schools across India and abroad. He also highlighted the Four Commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and expressed concern over China’s newly imposed Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, which seeks to enforce the exclusive use of the Chinese language among Tibetans. He noted that this has raised growing concerns over the preservation of Tibetan language and culture.
