Kullu: As part of the celebrations marking His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and the “Year of Compassion,” the Kullu-Manali local Ghoton Organising Committee organised a three-day photo exhibition and talk series highlighting His Holiness’ Four Principal Commitments and achievements, along with sessions on SEE Learning.
On 25 March, the committee invited staff from The Tibet Museum in Dharamshala to conduct a photo exhibition at the Manali-based Himalayan Nyingmapa Buddhist Monastery’s hall. The exhibition showcased the life and key commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Former MLA Ravi Thakur attended the event as chief guest, formally inaugurating the exhibition. He commended the photo exhibition and lauded His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s dedication to promoting non-violence. The event drew attendance from local Tibetans of various age groups, tourists, and members of the media.
The exhibition continued on 26 March at Kullu Ground, with Superintendent of Police Madan Lal, HPS, serving as the chief guest. The event attracted Tibetans, tourists, and local media, who engaged with displays focusing on the life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetan cause.
On both occasions, the chief guests were presented with books authored by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Ghoton souvenirs by the organising committee.
The three-day programme concluded on 27 March with a talk series held at the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural School near the 15 Mile Tibetan settlement. Speaker Tsering Tenzin, a certified SEE Learning and UEE Curriculum Facilitator, delivered a session on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Four Principal Commitments and SEE Learning, attended by students and teachers of the school, as well as local dignitaries.
The Ghoton Committee expressed gratitude to the speaker and presented him with a souvenir, marking the successful conclusion of the event in Kullu-Manali.
