
Geneva: Coinciding with the Spring Session of the Swiss Federal Assembly, scheduled from 2 to 20 March 2026, the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Tibet convened a meeting on 16 March 2026.
The meeting was chaired by MP Fabian Molina and attended by MPs Linda De Ventura and Leonore Porchet. Also present were Representative Thinlay Chukki, UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Tobgyal, and Thomas Bernhard Buchli, Secretary of the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Tibet.
During the session, members discussed the ongoing human rights violations in Tibet, as well as the escalating threats to Tibetan culture and language posed by the Chinese government’s recent “Ethnic Unity and Progress Law.” The group also examined in detail China’s transnational repression and considered matters concerning His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation.
The next meeting of the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Tibet is scheduled for 1 June 2026.
