
Dekyiling, Dehradun: As part of the ongoing official visitation programmes of the Central Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration, Additional Election Commissioner Nangsa Choedon successfully concluded the first phase of public outreach and awareness sessions on the upcoming Tibetan general election in 13 Tibetan settlements in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The visits, aimed at furthering the general public’s understanding of the electoral system—including voter registration procedures, voting and ballot secrecy, the invalidation of votes during ballot counting, and penalties for election interference to ensure a fair and equal election—were conducted from 15 to 22 October 2025. Beginning from Shimla, the programme covered Dolanji Bonshi, Kamrao Gapa, Sataun Kham Kathok, Puruwala Sakya Tibetan Society, Paonta Cholsum, Herbertpur, TCV Selakui, Manduwala Lingtsang, Clement Town Dhondupling, Raipur Tsering Dhondenling, Dekyiling, and Rajpur Tibetan Women’s Centre.
Following her addresses at the above settlements and community centres, Additional Election Commissioner Nangsa Choedon answered public queries, providing clarifications and addressing doubts.
Throughout these visits, Additional Election Commissioner Nangsa Choedon was accompanied by the Secretary of the Tibetan Election Commission, Lobsang Choedak.
