Dharamshala: On 18 October 2025, at their request, 22 members of the Indo-Tibet Friendship Society, Tawang Unit, including the Chairman and Vice Chairman, were granted an audience with His Holiness the great 14th Dalai Lama.

The Chairman of the Indo-Tibet Friendship Society had submitted a request several months ago through the Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement office, seeking the auspicious opportunity to have an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama by offering Mandala and the three representations of Buddha’s body, speech, and mind: the statue, the scriptures, and the stupa. Following this request, the Department of Home submitted an application through the Kashag (Cabinet) to the Private Office of Gaden Phodrang, resulting in the granting of this audience.

The Society’s chairman and members arrived in Dharamshala on the morning of 16 October 2025. On that occasion, they were received and welcomed by the head of the North-East section of the DoH. On the evening of 17 October, on behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration, the Additional Secretary Tashi Dekyi and North-East section head Thinley Uma hosted a welcoming dinner for them. During the event, both officials presented each member of the association’s leadership and members with two commemorative souvenirs specially designed to mark His Holiness’s 90th Birthday.
