
New Delhi: The Tibet Bureau, Geneva, in collaboration with the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, successfully hosted an exclusive High Tea meeting between a delegation of Swiss Parliamentarians and Hon’ble Members of the Indian Parliament on 11 October 2025 at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. The meeting was followed by the Swiss Art Night at the Swiss Embassy, marking a day of diplomatic goodwill and cultural exchange.
This initiative aimed to deepen bilateral parliamentary relations, promote democratic values, and create a platform for meaningful dialogue between Indian and Swiss lawmakers. The event was organised under the aegis of the India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO), New Delhi.
The Swiss delegation was received with warmth and respect by Representative Jigme Jungney, Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi. Hon’ble Smt. Kadiyam Kavya, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), was received with the highest regard by Representative Thinley Chukki, The Tibet Bureau, Geneva.
The programme commenced with formal introductions of the Indian and Swiss Parliamentarians, followed by an informal interaction focused on strengthening bilateral parliamentary cooperation. The meeting concluded with networking over high tea and a commemorative group photograph.
Later in the evening, the delegation proceeded to the Swiss Embassy for the Swiss Art Night, an event celebrating contemporary Swiss creativity. The programme featured a guided tour of art installations, cultural performances, and a musical interlude, culminating in a closing reception and light dinner.
The twin events marked a significant milestone in Indo-Swiss parliamentary engagement and cultural outreach, reinforcing shared democratic values and mutual respect.
