Dharamshala: Health Secretary Jampa Phuntsok attended the 19th Inter-House Athletics Meet of the school as the chief guest on 10 October 2025. The year’s theme was dedicated as a loving tribute to the 90th Birth Anniversary of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, marking it as the Year of Compassion. Upon his arrival, the Secretary was warmly received by the School Principal, the General Secretary of TCV Head Office, and the Settlement Officer of Bir Chauntra, BTS, and Dege.
Following the trophy distribution, Secretary Jampa Phuntsok addressed the students, praising their active involvement and the spirit of sportsmanship which made the event a huge success. He acknowledged his delight in watching the organised sporting event.
In his address, he emphasised the importance of upholding good courtesy, especially towards teachers and staff, and the cultivation of healthy habits. He also cautioned the students against falling into bad company and substance abuse, which could jeopardise their future. Encouraging the students to lead a meaningful and optimistic life, he urged them to become good human beings and carry their Tibetan identity with pride. Furthermore, he advised the students to remain mindful of social media platforms, explaining how these platforms—driven by AI algorithms—track user interests to manipulate engagement for marketing purposes, often leading to addiction and time wastage.
His visit concluded with a tour of the school campus, the Art exhibition room, Snow-land Farm, the Special Needs Education Centre, the dental clinic, and the girls’ hostel.
