
Shimla: On 30 September 2025, Lhakpa Tsering, the Chief Representative Officer of Shimla, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), paid an official visit to the Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh at the Chief Minister’s Office.
During the visit, Tsering delivered a Disaster Relief fund on behalf of the Office of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. A cheque amounting to ₹1,001,100 (Rupees Ten Lakh One Thousand One Hundred Only) was handed over to support ongoing disaster response efforts in the state.
On behalf of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community, Tsering also conveyed heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the recent natural calamities in Himachal Pradesh.
In addition, Tsering expressed profound gratitude and thanked the State Government for its generous support in extending the lease of land allocated for Tibetan residents in Shimla. He acknowledged this act as a testament to the continued goodwill and longstanding relationship between the Tibetan community and the people of Himachal Pradesh. (Dev Bhumi)
Furthermore, Tsering respectfully appealed to the Honourable Chief Minister to kindly consider extending further support in resolving the pending land-related issues, which continue to affect Tibetan residents across Himachal Pradesh.
Tsering took the opportunity to gently recall to the Honourable Chief Minister’s attention the gracious invitation— an invitation that was originally extended by the Honourable Sikyong, Penpa Tsering, during his visit to Shimla in April this year.
Lastly, Tsering extended warm congratulations to the Honourable Chief Minister’s daughter on her selection to the prestigious London School of Economics, wishing her great success in her academic journey.
The meeting concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the deep ties between the Tibetan community and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
