Dharamshala: The new President and Vice President of the 12th Local Tibetan Assembly of the Bir Chauntra Nangchen Sonam Yugyal and Thinley Dorjee, with 11 Local Assembly members officially sworn in on 20 September 2025 . The oath was administered virtually by the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner of Northern Region, Choekyi.
The virtual swearing in ceremony was organised by the local election officer cum Bir Chauntra Settlement Officer, at the settlement’s Local Assembly hall.
During ceremony, the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner gave a brief self-introduction and then provided an introduction to the relevant sections of the Charter of Tibetans in Exile concerning local assemblies and election regulations to the attendees.
