
Herbertpur: As a part of the year-long compassion initiative – The Herbertpur Ghoton Committee organised an outreach program on 28 July 2025 on auspicious day of Choekor Duchen to support students from economically weaker backgrounds by distributing essential educational material at four Local Government Schools at Jamnipur, Baluwala, Khera, and Lakhanwala. A total of 186 Students from Classes I to VIII received items such as notebooks, drawing books, pencils, erasers, sketch pens, highlighters, and ball pens.
The event began with opening remarks from Principal Atul Sharma, of GUPS Lakhanwala, appreciated the committee’s effort and stressed the importance of such compassionate acts. Herbertpur Tibetan Settlement Officer Dolma Tsering, in her address, emphasised that year of compassion has been dedicated to fostering kindness, empathy and practical community service inspired by the teachings of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India and the People of India for their unwavering support.
Local Students expressed joy and gratitude, and school staffs acknowledged the meaningful impact of the outreach. This program reflected the true spirit of the Year of compassion, promoting kindness and contributing positively to the society that has so warmly embraced us.
