
Taipei: The Secretary of the Office of Tibet in Taipei, Migyur Youdon, partook in the press conference of a week-long exhibition titled ”Snowy Ridges to the ocean of wisdom’’ jointly organised by The Human Rights Network for Tibet and Taiwan (HRNTT) in collaboration with some Taiwan-based non-governmental organisation on 28 June 2025 at the city of Xiinfu in Wanhua province.
At the press conference, Wu Pei-Yu, President of the Taiwan Parliamentary Tibet Support Group, Vice President Chen Pei-Yu, Group’s member Huang Jie, as well as the President and Secretary of the Human Rights Network for Tibet and Taiwan, Wu Haoren and Tashi Tsering, jointly addressed the media related to the theme of the exhibition. After the press conference, the guests were given a tour of the exhibition.
This Exhibition features the quotes and artworks of ongoing repressions of Tibetans, Hongkongers and Uighurs under People Republic of China. A special exhibition is scheduled to be held on 6 July 2025 on His Holiness’s official birth date.
On the following day, Secretary Migyur Youdon attended the pre-celebration of 90th birthday of His Holiness at Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). The event was organised by the members of Taiwan Drepung Gomang Buddhist Centre.
The pre-celebration of His Holiness’ Birthday event was graced by chief guest Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche, and the guests Tashi Tsering, Secretary of The Human Rights Network for Tibet and Taiwan; Hsin Yi Lin, a member of Taiwan Alliance to End the Death Penalty, and the president of Drepung Gomang Buddhist Religious Centre.
Following the offering of mandalas to His Holiness’ portrait by chief guest Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche and offering of prayers of His Holiness’ longevity, the distinguished guests addressed the gathering. The celebration also featured cake cutting ceremony and the performance from Taiwanese cultural performance team.
The celebration witnessed a large number of Taiwanese devotees, including Tibetan Buddhist lamas and Geshes.
Later that afternoon, Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche bestowed a sacred transmission of Vajracchedika (Diamond Sutra) to the celebrants.
In her address during the above two events, Secretary Migyur Youdon introduced the completed Chinese translation of ‘’Voice for the Voiceless’’ to Taiwanese public. Secretary of the Office of Tibet also held an interview with Taiwan Public Television Service Foundation.
