
Dehradun: As part of an educational tour, 48 students from grade VIII of Tibetan Children’s Village School, Selakui, accompanied by their teacher Ngawang Choesang, paid a visit to the offices of the Local Tibetan Justice Commission (Northern Region) and the Tibetan Circuit Justice Commission on 26 September 2024.
During the visit, Tibetan Circuit Justice Commissioner Lhadruk briefed the students about the roles and responsibilities of the Circuit Justice Commission. Local Justice Commissioner for the Northern Region, Choekyi, then provided an insightful overview of the Tibetan Judiciary in exile. They further shared details about the Tibetan Justice Commission’s Code of Civil Procedure’s principal law and provided a detailed guideline on the different types of evidence, admissibility of evidence, the veracity of witnesses, examination of witnesses, and the standard of proof.
The two Tibetan justice Commissioner also answered queries raised by the students during a Q&A session.
