Herbertpur: The Tibetan Settlement Office, Herbertpur, organised a Tree Plantation drive on Wednesday, 7 August 2024, at Tibetan Private Industrial Training Institute Selakui, which was done with the help of the students and staff of the institution.

They planted 113 saplings, including fruit-bearing trees and non-fruit trees such as mangoes, guava, lemon, moor pank, kadam, mattes, jacaranda, hibiscus, ficus, and Christmas. The Tibetan Private ITI Selakui will look after the proper care of the newly planted saplings.

This initiative is carried out by Tibetans under this office to express their sincere gratitude to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on His Holiness’s 90th birthday as per Tibetan Lunar Calendar.

Furthermore, they encourage ordinary people to participate in “tree plantation” programs and raise awareness about the importance of tree planting in combating climate change.
