
Sonipat, Haryana: The Public Service Commission kickstarted its training program scheduled from 5-9 August 2024 at the O.P Jindal Global University based in Sonipat, Haryana. The 5-day training program was designed for Section Officers, Office Superintendents and Office Assistants from various departments and Tibetan Settlement Offices, numbering 25 (16 males and 9 females) in total. The training program is titled as “Behavioral Skills for Success and Well being” conducted by the Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE).
The inaugural program began with a welcome address by the Senior Program Manager, Neelakshi Chaturvedi. The Senior Director of the JILDEE, Lt. Gen. Prof. Dr Rajesh Kochhar, spoke about the sacred audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, meeting with the then Sikyong and Chairman of the Public Service Commission at Dharamshala in 2014. He cherished his long association with the CTA and the series of training conducted for the CTA officers at the headquarter as well as the settlements. Gen. Kochhar then introduced the training agendas, which include mastering effective communication, effective time management, managing interpersonal conflict, self-confidence and assertiveness, emotional intelligence, active listening, etc.
The Secretary of the Public Service Commission, Tsering Yangkey, in her address, talked about her maiden visit to the campus as a trainee in 2018 and expressed her joy and privilege to come back as a training organizer. She acknowledged the JILDEE’s kind gesture of conducting this training on a special offer complementing their long association. She said that any organisation’s most valuable asset is its people, and so training plays a vital role in shaping up people with increased productivity, renewed energy and enthusiasm, adaptability to change, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity, risk management and so on and so forth all leading to the long term success and sustainability of organisation including the CTA.
She also urged the participants to freely interact and engage with the faculties to upgrade their knowledge and skills to the optimum level. The participants are also asked to share their learnings from the training when they get back to their respective offices.
The director of JILDEE, Col. Sanjay Rai, also welcomed the participants and motivated them to actively engage in learning, unlearning and relearning, which is what they say in the institute.
The inaugural session ended with a vote of thanks by the senior manager of the JILDEE.
